2nd Generation Beanie Babies began hitting stores in 1994. They feature a new tag, a fold out book style tag that would remain a staple of Beanie Babies for years to come.

While the 1st Generation tagged Beanie Babies carry the most value, certain 2nd Generation ones can also sell well on places like eBay and Amazon.

  1. I have a second generation Valentino Bear with a speedy the Turtle Tush Tag. What is the value of this bear?

    1. Hello! It would probably depend if it had it’s hang tag or not and what Generation the Hang Tag was.

      1. The bear is a second generation, the tush tag 1993 is a Speedy the turtle, but the bear is a Valentino Bear with a hang tag DOB 02-14-94.

        1. Valentino Bears began with 2nd Generation Hang Tags, and 1st Generation Tush Tags, but there are many different versions. Names of Beanie Babies on Tush Tags didn’t begin until the 3rd Generation: http://lovemybeanies.com/3rd-generation-beanie-babies-tush-tags/

Without seeing the tags, you probably have a 4th/3rd, 5th/3rd, or 5th/4th version. If it was in decent condition, the right person might pay around $10 for one with a wrong tush tag.

Here is some information on other Valentino’s: http://lovemybeanies.com/valentino-beanie-babies-price-guide/ If I find prices for error versions I will be sure to add them to the page.

          1. Thanks for all of the info on Valentino. I am getting quite familiar with the Beanies. 😉

  2. Hello, I have several of these beanies with 1st generation Tush tags but 2nd generation hang tags. How do I determine the worth of them?

      1. I have the ones with the folding hang tag and 1st generation tush tag. They are: Bones, Waddle, Twigs, Manny, Bucky, Daisy, Inch, Chocolate and Splash. Are they worth anything?

        Thanks!

  3. questioning “Georgette” ‘and they lived happily ever after’ I’m not seeing this on site, can you tell me anything on this Beanie ?

    1. I believe Ty started to put a halogens as a way to prevent counterfeiting from China Etc, this was done in3td generation and beyond. I may not be a 100% but I started collecting in 95. If I’m incorrect someone please correct me.

  4. Hi. I have bags of beanies but I’m wondering about a few that have ’94 hang tags and ’93 tush tags, They are Mystic the unicorn (iridescent horn), Valentino, Inky (pink), Zip, Quackers, Mystic the unicorn (brown horn) and Daisy. I also have Zip with a ’95 hang tag and a ’93 tush tag. Finally there is Rocket that has the earlier hang tag date (’97) with .an older tush tag date (’98). My daughter teaches elementary school and has asked me for all of the beanie babies so I want to double check to see if any of them have value.

  5. Have literally hundreds of Beanie Babies that are in their original containers and some that are 10 year addition and can’t even begin to tell you how many… many many first time ones with tags and information on them… they are or were my new husbands late wife and she bought them by the dozens…. I do not really want them at all but have no idea where to get the best prices for the rare or the first one’s made in perfect condition… Can you please direct me on my search for the correct venue… I know we could open a store…..

        1. Why not? I just looked it up online. Snort beanie babies are worth up to 5500. Also I am curious, who decides the value of the beanie babies? I have an iggy the iguana in amazing condition, with the tag. I also have freckles the leopard and a mellenial bear. Both of these have no tags. Are they worth anything?

  6. My daughter has tons of beanie babies. the one i am looking at is 10 yrs old. it is Sleighride. she wants to sell them. What it the proper way to do this. i just pulled a few out…tracker, puffy, pinky, brueno, sniffer, charmer, chip, nanook and many more.

  7. I have Beanie Bears, for example “North” Which has no birthdate. 2nd generation hang tag with brow tush tag with white letters with 1993. “The Attic Collection” What generation is it?
What does the brown tush tag indicate? Please Reply….Help!

  8. I have a Bongo and Derby both 1995 with tush tags that say their name and 1995 TY INC. I am trying to figure out the value of them but not sure what figures are correct. I would appreciate any help.

  9. I have one of the Beanie original babies with all the misspellings and the date on the swing tag is 1996 and the tush tag is 1993 this also has the double space where it says To this bear always be true. How do I find out the worth of this bear?

  10. I have many bb ,but their are 2. I know nothing about! ” peppermint ” white bear with red hat and scarf. Long nose. Moveable arms and legs. The tag is maroon in color with a gold heart with Ty in the heart. Also a light blue cutlery bear with no hang tag ,but has the same maroon tag.?

  11. I can’t find Toothy, a dinosaur (7/10/01) – Sly, a fox (10/12/96) – Spangle, a red, white and blue teddy bear type (6/14/99) -Squirmy, a green snake (4/13/00) -Rescue, a white dog with black spots (9/11/01) – Snowgirl, a, well, snowgirl (11/30/00) or Clover,a white bear with green shamrocks (3/17/01). Could anyone give me any information on these?

  12. After doing extensive research I have found that just because there are errors on swing tags and tush tags does not automatically mean the beanie baby is valuable. The most valuable ones have the single one piece swing tag that does not open. They are tough and close to impossible to find and too expensive to buy unless the beanie baby God’s allow you to stumble upon one
There are billions upon billions second generation swing tag bb’ s out there . Highly unlikely to sell these for more money than you originally paid
Entsy , EBay and Amazon listings with outrageous prices on 2nd gen swing tags and tush tags are by people who have not done ANY research. Enjoy what you have…dont think you are going to be the next beanie baby millionaire!

    1. Everything you said is accurate. The owner of Ty Beanie Babies is one of the richest people in the world for a reason.

  13. I looked through all of mine and could find the prices for most of them . Others i am having trouble.. I have a few that it says check guide but it won’t let me click on it.. I have a German lucky, happy, derby, quakers, & spike. and I couldn’t find Sammy on your list of beanie babies …
