  1. Hi – I’m not familiar with Beanie Babies and just got 60 or so. Could someone tell me about “Curly”? I have one with a birthdate of April 12 1996 however the tag on his bottom has 1993. Is this normal? I really don’t know what I have! Thanks.

    1. Hello. It is normal to have Birthdates not correspond with Tush Tag dates. They used the Tush Tags for many years, and early ones only had the dates 1993 or 1995 on them.

  2. Just noticed my Freckles, 1996, has a Squealer tush tag. In my research, this is the first I’ve come across. Any thoughts?

  3. I have a Light Blue Peanut with the correct hang tag but with a tush tag that says Ziggy. Does anyone know what this would be worth, if anything?

  4. Ok I found a Curly with 4 errors, born:1996 tush tag has 1993, Misspelled Original, Misspelled surface, Space on third line inside of tag, and he also has black eyes and brown nose. No number on tush tag. Does anyone have any ideal what its worth

    1. Hello! Unfortunately, Curly bears tend to be fairly common, even with the spelling errors. The Born in 1996 and the tush tag saying 1993 is actually not an error. You probably have a 3rd Generation Tush Tag Curly and those will have 1993 dates on them. Curly’s with the spelling errors on the tags tend to sell in the $2 range.

  5. I have a squealer with surface spelled “sufrace.” Any value? Also, how much will value drop w no swing tag. I have several 1st gen tush tags but no swing tags. Thanks!

    1. Hello! A Squealer with a misspelled Surface would sell in the $5 range if it’s anything past a 1st Generation. Beanie Babies without hang tags, but have a 1st Generation Tush Tag, it would depend on which ones. Some of them, maybe in the $3-5 range, while others can be worth $10 or more.

  6. Hey!! I have a 1993 valentino with miss spelled original(origiinal) and miss spelled(surface(suface). Also the bear has 2 different eye sizes as well as PVC pellets, and no stamp on the tush tag, also a very hard plastic case around the swing tag. Did I have something? And Value??

  7. Getting ready for a garage sale and have two Pinchers. One has “Pinchers” on the tush tag but the other has “Digger”. Any value?

    1. Hello! With Diggers & Pinchers it all comes down to the tags to know if it is worth something. In general, versions with a 1st Generation Tush Tag: http://lovemybeanies.com/1st-generation-beanie-babies-tush-tag/ will have some value. Especially a Pinchers with a 1st Gen Hang Tag AND a 1st Gen Tush Tag.

From there, those without a 1st Gen Tush Tag will only have minimal value. A Pinchers with with 3rd/2nd Tags would be worth about $10.00. Anything past 3rd Generation Hang Tags on it and they are essentially worthless.

  8. Hi, Love My Newbies! My father in-law collected beanie babies and was very keen on finding whats good. Unfortunately he is not here to assist me in this issue. I have acquires about 300+ newbie babies, my peace bear has original spelled origiinal not oriiginal as I keep seeing suggested. I also have the No 1 bear and the 1999 bear has no errors. I would really like any help with this. I do sell on eBay but that is not an actual price guide I can rely on. I would appreciate your help extremely. Thank you for your time!

    Joe

    1. Hello! The best thing to do when you have so many Beanies is to look and see if any of them have 1st Generation Tush Tags: http://lovemybeanies.com/1st-generation-beanie-babies-tush-tag/ They will be easy to spot as they are the only ones with black & white lettering. Ones with 1st Generation Tush Tags are older and can at times be valuable.

The next step after that is hopefully identify the Hang Tag. Beanie Babies with 1st Generation Tush Tags can only have Hang Tags that are either 1st, 2nd or 3rd Generation. Here is a Hang Tag Guide for those generations: http://lovemybeanies.com/beanie-babies-hang-tag-generations-1-4/

Beanie Babies that are worth the most will have 1st/1st Tags. Those are actually pretty rare and hard to find. Then the prices generally tier down once you get into 2nd/1st, and especially 3rd/1st.

After 1st Generation versions, it’s very hit or miss, mostly miss, trying to find ones worth money. As they sit they are probably worth $1 or so each if they aren’t 1st Generation. Even Peace Bears, #1 Bears. Those were made during the height of Beanie Babies popularity so they are very easy to find. Check out the ones you have and see if you got some of the older ones. If you need help with some values after that, I would definitely be happy to help. Good luck! LMK what you find.

  9. I have Pincher the lobster with a white star, but I can’t find anything that says it’s not original, only that it might be. Also it doesn’t have the name on the tush tag. Additionally I have the same problem with Floppity the rabbit. It doesn’t have a style number. How can I find out if I should just give them to my grandaughter to play with?

    1. Hello! Without seeing them, they probably are counterfeit. It’s probably safe to treat them as toys. Pinchers were mass counterfeited and for some reason Floppity’s were to.

  10. Hey I found a 1993 Piccadilly circus bear with an Azalea tag, says, “Hare today- Gone Tomorrow!”
Pseudo Pink Floyd-esq quote, but yes don’t know if its worth anything, but it is clearly not correct, just wondered if anyone could appraise it, thanks!

    1. Hello Captain! The Piccadilly Bear is apart of the Ty Attic Treasures line. Online, they tend to sell in the $3 range.

      1. Yes it is, Piccadilly has the tag of Azalae the hare on it, not its own coresponding tag. Don’t know if anyones got an idea of what its worth.

        1. Generally the only ones that have extra value are ones with wrong tush tags. It would be easy to switch out hang tags on Beanie Babies & Attic Treasures.

  11. Hello again. I also have a couple others that may be rare, but not for sure. I have a princess Diana that has two hang tags together inside the plastic heart. It also has no spaces on the part where it says about the donations. (last 5 lines) but the tush tag says made in Indonesia with PE. I also have another one that has the hang tag but then has half of another tag that is all blank.

    Thanks!

  12. i found a bunch or bears… one is the garcia with no swing tag but tush tag says peace…also i have 2 curlys one has 2 errors only which are the 1993 on tush from 1996 bday and a spacing error in the poem. also the other curly is in fair condition but no swing tag tush tag says its 1993 and pac pellets and it has the old face, I’ve googled and cant find these 3 bears anywhere for more price info

    please help

my daughter lost all her stuffed animals in a emergency so i’m trying to get her collection again…. sucks cause we had bears since my 17yr old son was born. my daughters 9th bday is tomorrow and i would like to have the info for her

    thanks,
    a loving mommy

    1. Hello!

The Garcia Bear is actually a Peace Bear. Shortly after Ty released the Garcia Bear for Grateful Dead singer Jerry Garcia, it’s believed Ty was sued by the estate of J. Garcia. So Ty released the same exact bear but called it Peace. Without the hang tag, Peace Bears have very minimal value, probably $1 or so.

The Curly dates on the Tags are correct and not an error. You probably have a 3rd Generation Tush Tag: http://lovemybeanies.com/3rd-generation-beanie-babies-tush-tags/ on one of the Curly’s, those can have the date 1993 on them even though Beanie Babies will have birth dates after 1993. Recently some Curly’s sold online with spacing errors in the poem for $3.00.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

  13. I have a Ty Beanie TAZ that was sold exclusively to Walgreen’s he is completely backwards but his face I was wondering if anybody would know his value I emailed Ty collectors about him and they said he is considered a Oddity very rare can somebody please help me

    1. Hello! Sounds like an interesting Beanie. Many years ago, something like that may have brought more than it would today. Oddity’s that sell tend to be authenticated by a third party like True Blue, Peggy G or Pbbags. Most sell for modest prices, in the $20-30 range, which would barely cover the cost to have it authenticated. As it sits, unless you find the perfect buyer for it, it’s probably in the $10-20 range. Which is pretty good, as a normal one would be maybe $5 or so.

  14. Hi I have a 4th generation princess Diana bear with tags polyester and p.e pellets please can you tell me if this is of any worth? Thank you

  15. I have a scoop pelican style 4017 and it’s tush tag says hoppity on the tush tag and don’t see anyone having this issue

    1. I have a scoop with a brutus tush tag. I also cannot find anything anywhere about it. Were you ever successful?

  16. i have a light blue Peanut the elephant, from January 25,1995. i think it is a fifth generation hang tag. it has a a major error on the hang tag. is it worth anything? the tag reads..

“Peanut the elephant walks on tip-toes
    Quietly sneaking wherever she goes
She’ll sneak up on you and a hug
    You will get
Peanut is a friend you won’t soon forget!”

  17. Hi! I’m confused- my dolphin (grey-blue & white) says ‘Waves’ on both tags and the whale (black & white’ says ‘Echo’ on both tags. The poem does refer to Echo being a dolphin, though. Are these both tagged wrong, then?

  18. Hello! I have a Valentino with “Origiinal” and Suface” misspellings. PE Pellets. February 14,1994 and tush tag of 1993. Reg. No PA. 1965 (KR)… Thoughts? Thanks!

  19. Hi,
I have searched extensively and can not anything on line about one of my beanie babies.
It’s Bucky the Beaver with a 4th gen. hang tag and an error tush tag.
It’s a 3rd gen. “Sparky” tush tag and surface is misspelled “sufrace”
    And PVC pellets.
If anyone has information on the possible value or if it is indeed rare, I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

    Thank you,
    Kim K

  20. I have a Valentino with the two misspellings on the swing tag, brown nose, and no heart stamp on inside of tush tag, it is not a PVC. I had an Erin the Bear with Gasport instead of Gosport on swing tag. I have the Nine Eleven bear named America with “100 percent of Ty profits….will benefit the American Red Cross.” Instead of the copyright stuff on the swing tag. I have a Kicks the Bear with Gasport instead of Gosport and at the end of the poem, the last word is Kick, there is a space between the last k and the exclamation point. I have a Germania the Bear and the swing tag is written in German and I don’t have the faintest idea what it says. I have the 1999 Signature bear with the book style swing tag and no poem or DOB, just the name. Any prices? I have more but these are just the ones nearest me.

  21. Hi! I have a Congo with a 5th gen swing tag but a Doby 5th generation tush tag 1993. I couldn’t find this name error anywhere online. Can you tell me anything about it?

    “”Squealer likes to joke around
He is known as class clown
Listen to his stories for awhile
There is no doubt he’ll will make you smile!”

wondering if anyone knows if this is worth anything??? I paid $2 for it and it’s in perfect condition as are the tags…any help would be really appreciated 🙂
